Rangers v St Mirren, Sun 16th Aug

Featured Replies

Well, when the draw was made there was, understandably, some negativity drawing Rangers away.

Since then the fortunes of both teams have went in opposite directions.

Rangers haven't won a game all season and we've won two league games on the bounce.

Still a difficult task but not impossible that we can get a result.

First half played OK. Gave away a poor goal then another we could do nothing about. Managed to get back in the match with a very good goal. Rangers could have had four players booked in the first half

I think we will get well beaten on Sunday. Really for me just keeping the score down.

We have started well in the league and given ourselves a bit of breathing space and allowed the manager a bit of space to build.

Rangers should have beaten Hibs and will be well up for getting back on track. A defeat to St Mirren would be out of the question for them.

Having said that if we score first the pressure on them would be massive.

I think this game will expose Gogic, Fraser through our center of defence. Feel that Fraser in particular is just shading a bit. Gogic a warrior but not quite the player he was either ?

Rangers have scored 3 goals in 3 games, 2 have bern OG's.

I'm not saying we'll not be underdogs but I'm not seeing them rattling in a big score.

Rangers are under huge pressure just now and being knocked out the Cup at home to us would trigger absolute meltdown at Ibrox.

They have been very poor so far and still don't seem to have a leader on the park. If we can start well and get that Ibrox crowd turning on them (and it won't take much) then who knows?

If however we present Shankland with the chances we gave Falkirk and St Johnstone we are in real trouble.

A real test of where we are. A good performace, have a go, do nothing silly and see where it takes us.

The Rangers support are in turmoil, talk of sacking the manager, pointing the finger at certain players and be moaning players that are no longer there were better.

Sounds like a few we have on here and even more on Facebook.

If we happen to hold out for a while and/or score first Ibrox will explode. 🤣

Well, total meltdown up Ibrox way.

Their fragile state must improve our chances on Sunday.

Only scored through a penalty tonight on Eurooe, they are struggling big time to find the net.

If I was a betting man I'd have a wee sniff on us at over 8/1.

First 20 minutes are crucial as, if it's going our way, the orks will be seething and the boos would be resounding. I'm with Faraway here. IF I was a betting man I might have a wee punt.

There's no chance McInnes would get the boot if we win on Sunday.

There's no doubt the pressure is already on and if we won, well, Ibrox would be empty long before the final whistle.

Agree 100% that it's important we don't concede early, their players, as well as the support, will be on edge, we have a decent chance.

Funny old game, only a few short weeks ago we were, seemingly, gearing up for the Championship and here we are with reasonable hope we can win at Ibrox.

The current meltdown from quite a number of Rangers supporters who are screaming for the manager to be sacked would be funny I'd we didn't have a few similar minded in our own support who wanted our manger gone BEFORE the season started. 🤣🤣🤣

I don't agree with your first statement. In the past, fan power has made them react, There would be so much flack coming on the back of the rangers losing to such lowly opposition, (as their fans judge us), that McInnes would most certainly be vulnerable.

As for our support. Many, including myself, are still to be pushed off the fence either way.

Is there VAR for this game, not all the home clubs have it installed, and I think I read somewhere that all the games had to have it or none in any given round - or have I been hallucinating again?

Don't misunderstood me as I'm aware "fan power" can push owners/directors to make a rash decision but, again, there's absolutely no chance this will happen at this stage of the season.

There's a determination at Ibrox to stop the revolving door approach.

As for "our support" many were less than convinced about our manager but the sensible view was to give him a chance, something that was brutally ignored by a few on here.

Of course it's early days and, yawn, it's more than likely to be a tough season but the foundations are in place for us, as a club, to become stable and aim to be back in tbe top six.

Anyhow, back to the game, not sure how much our ticket allocation was but only 150 remaining. 👍👍👍
