Lex got a reaction from faraway saint in Lennon OutThe cup win was doubtlessly glorious and my best ever day supporting the Saints.
It showed what the team what the squad was capable of. However it served to make the abysmal league form all the more frustrating. How could a team who can play that well in 5 one off games finish 11th in the league?
I have no idea, but we somehow managed it.

We are in a bad place right now on a bad run with a sitting duck manager who all and sundry know will be leaving the club in the summer. We are favourites for 11th and rightly so.
However, we have what it takes within the squad and within the football club to avoid the dreaded trap door.
As fans we must accept that Danny won't be leaving the club until the end of the season. We therefore must stop focussing our energies on him and start focussing our energies on getting behind the team and getting the belief back amongst fans.
We can stay up without making changes. It starts on Saturday, let's get right behind the team and roar them to what will be a massive 3 points.

Lex got a reaction from simondsmfc in Lennon OutNot surprised to see this thread descend into personal abuse from the usual suspects. I will rise above that and not respond to it directly, but more generally.
I think that we all accept that regardless of what happens between now and May, Danny won't be here next season. However, the reasons I want Lennon to see out the season are two fold really:
Changes in management at this stage in the season very seldom have a positive impact on the club, indeed, they are more likely to have a negative impact. History shows us this. Four of the last five clubs to be relegated from the top flight (ICT, Falkirk, Dunfermline and Dundee) all changed their managers post January whilst they were in 12th, they all finished 12th. I could cite numerous other examples from other leagues, the evidence is clear, post January managerial changes do not increase teams chances of staying up. I don't think it would be any different with us, I don't think we will be any more likely to stay up without Danny Lennon between now and May, if anything I think we would be less likely.
So baring this evidence in mind, I wouldn't like to see the club wasting money on paying Danny off and wasting money on a new manager between now and the end of the season, as it's likely going to be wasted money. Baring this evidence in mind, I wouldn't want to see a new man come in and take part of the hit for Danny.
Imagine we do appoint Thompson and Teale (a completely ludicrous suggestion of a management team in my opinion, but I digress) and we then go on to a terrible finish and end up in the Championship. Would that be their fault? No, of course it wouldn't be, it would be Danny Lennon's fault, but if he wasn't here the blame on him would be lessened.
He's made his bed he has to lie in it. And baring in mind the lack evidence for and the cost of managerial change at this stage, Danny should be here to face the consequences of his doing, whatever they may be.
Given how they normally act, i'd also be astounded if the BoD make a change at this point, it's not their style. They will know now that they should have made the change after the home loss to Thistle. As they never they also will have to accept a fair chunk of the blame should we end up in the Championship.

Lex reacted to FS in Protest After Kilmarnock Game If Lennon Isn't Already Gone? We're still only an achievable amount of points away from top six or avoiding the play off position (depending on how shitty your knickers are). Sacking the manager now will get us nothing this late in the season. What will make a difference now is for the team to roll up their f*cking sleeves and get their hands dirty. A bit of spirit like Partick and Ross County are showing currently will do us nicely.

Lex got a reaction from BAWZ in Who Would You KeepThe reason Thompson is f**ked is simply because he's played too much this season.
If he and the squad were managed properly he could go on for another 2 seasons minimum. Sadly neither he nor the squad has been managed properly this season, hence his performance levels dropping, hence our current league position.
Hopefully next year we will have a manager who knows what he's doing in the hot seat, and hopefully he will manage Thommo appropriately.

Lex reacted to Drogheda Saint in Lennon OutNo point sacking Lennon. Too late. Need to get back to basics, players in right places. Two absolute transfer window disasters; reliance on loan signings and Lennon's tinkering with positions has resulted in this freefall lasting best part of a year. If it wasn't for McGinn and Thompson we would be relegated already.
