What astounds me is that a so called elite set of players were caught out time and again by almost the same simplistic tactic. Hot knife through butter would be a harder task than this. That and that McBurnie was still on the park ten minutes in. Epitome of headless chicken. Though I think there were a few of those on display.

Right off topic. Talking of swan songs. Mine might be, be, "There I was and now am not and here I go, It's just as well, I was getting so slow, Here I go,..o, Rockin' right out of this world" Though, honestly, I'd rather keep the Status Quo!

Believe it or not. There is a lot of what you say strikes a chord with me. I don't really believe in universal free this and that normally. Free parking is a definite exception as I think it disgusting to charge ANYONE for going to hospital. Some of the other stuff I agree shouldn't be given to those in leass need but I do see the reasoning behind it as it is, in some people's mind, a way to remove the stigma that can go with so called hand outs. Perhaps the solution is to actually start thinking about taking a little more back from those who can well afford it. This doesn't detract from my belief that Scotland has been held back by the shackles of an unfair partnership with a much larger country with far less resources. How well Scotland would do without that burden is all about how any resources we have left is used by, hopefully, the right governence, Will it happen in my lifetime? Granted. I probably have less time remaining on this earth than I have had on it but I do hope so. I firmly believe there is enough left to still make Scotland a country others would love to belong to but that window narrows the longer we give those controlling what we have left to squander it while claiming we need them. Ask yourself one question. WHY do those in control from the RotUK actually fight so hard to hold onto what they would like you to think is a burden on them?

I dispute a lot of what you lay purely at the SNPs door with the limited "grant" we get from the UK government, which doesn't represent what an independent Scotland would raise in revenue. You mention the NHS. Look into the facts and you will find that Scotland's government is actually looking after it better than the RoUK. For instance. I see you don't mention any good things the SNP have gone like universal free prescriptions and free parking at the majority of hospitals. That aside. What the SNP do or don't do in a parliament handcuffed to the whims of a UK parliament is nothing to do with the broader picture of independence. What people seem to ignore, or don't grasp is, IF WHEN we achieve independence, the SNP would NOT be running things long term. That would be down to whichever party the people of Scotland elect through the democratic process. We wouldn't be voting for a one party state. We would be voting for self determination. In fact. If you do want to see the back of the SNP, the best way is to vote for an independent Scotland. Then the SNP become superfluous. ETA As for ferries. Lets counter that with the waste and expanding cost/ contracting service that is the English governments high speed rail line. Governments are notorious for waste when it comes to public finances. It's not just an SNP problem.

John Swinney: I have received the first official estimate of the cost to Scotland's pensioners of the Prime Minister's attack on the triple lock. It will take up to £4bn from Scotland's pensioners. And the Prime Minister plans to use it to pay for social care in England. This would mean in real terms every pensioner in Scotland being almost £2,000 worse off in 2050. This is unacceptable and the PM must abandon these plans. The Deputy First Minister Jenny Gilruth SNP wrote to the Scottish Parliament's Finance Committee to update them on this analysis: And some unionist loonies think that 1 billion minus 4 billion leaves a positive number. Go figure.

I'm no boxing fan. I can't even bring myself to call it a sport. BUT... A 36 year old v a 39 year old who, apparently, has had more fat on, (then off), him than a greasy spoon. There must be better fair out there for those who really believe this is some form of art? I can only assume the dodgy deals behind the scene from what has always been dubious promoters are preventing "REAL" up and coming fighters from ruining their chances of a quick buck. True pugilists must be absolutely pulling their hair out watching this hyped up nonsense.

Let's get away from this notion that state pension is a benefit. It's NOT. It's a right for those who have contributed. We all need to have paid for it for a definitive amount of time to qualify. Next. To get back to the issue at hand. This change is being introduced to ALL pensioners, no matter where they live in the "UK", while only England will benefit from the savings. Does that seem really fair to you. It would need a really thick, biased or both, person to think so.

Just to be clear about you, the buffoon who, I imagine, is attempting to interact with me. I don't read, don't intend to read, have no interest in reading. the sh!te you spout. I have had you on ignore and intend to keep it that way. The two things I know for sure is that, 1) If I say black, you'll say white and 2) most of what you type will be sh!te. Hope this helps and let's you put away the crayons.

Burnham has made it official. He wants to stop pensioners in Scotland, Ireland and Wales getting the protection of the triple lock to fund care in ENGLAND! No benefit for the rest. Only the pain.

So. The prime minister is expected to set out his "vision" for offering access to free social care services to everyone in England. Adult social care provides state support to help people live more independently, including assistance at home. But the current social care system isn't free, unlike NHS services. Burnham told the BBC on Sunday he will put his plans before voters at the next general election, saying it would be a system in which "everyone contributes, everyone is covered". He did not rule out tax rises, acknowledging it may be "difficult or unpopular" with some. Burnham did say the plans won't come into effect until after the general election, as he wanted to stick to the commitments in Labour's 2024 election manifesto, which included a promise not to increase national insurance, income tax or VAT. Baroness Louise Casey was asked by Burnham to speed up her commission into adult social care in England, and now it's due to be released by April 2027. AM I missing something here? The labour party is going to take away the triple lock to ALL pensioners to fund the changes to care in ENGLAND. A fair and equal union? MY ^RSE!!! Do you still believe we're better together?
