lenziebud got a reaction from eastlandssaint in Falkirk v St Mirren, Sat 1st AugGood performance yesterday and a step up from the Dunfermline game.
Team selection was much stronger and new signings really showed up well.
Thought we got away with it a bit in the first half but still had chances. Second half all saints and should have scored 2 or 3 more.
McGlynn thought they dominated second half. Really !
Really like Nsio in midfield, adds physicality and looks a box to box player. Sule needs to find a finish but really promising.
Not quite sure what the story is with Young but looked decent when he came on, maybe a future at SMFC after all.
For all the talk of academy players didn't look a great deal different from previous seasons.
Maybe Douglas, McEvoy will be introduced gradually but at some point they will need to grab their opportunity and be difficult to take out the team.

lenziebud got a reaction from faraway saint in Falkirk v St Mirren, Sat 1st AugMooney started more than enough to show that he was not a first choice pick ahead of Ayunga, Mandron, Olysanya etc. Robbo was more than willing to give him the chance but he never quite made it. Off to Arsenal to see if they can develop him, bit like Wilson at Hearts going to Spurs. Not good enough to hold down starting position at Hearts but good potential.
Sutherland played one game and was snapped up by Wolves, maybe he would have been good enough to hold down a starting position but we will never know. Wolves hoping to develop potential and paying what are pennies to them for it.
Taylor is a nice little player but for me not physical enough for the SPL and will get swallowed up. Robbo persevered to an extent with him even starting him at Parkhead but the game passed him by. Tends to drift out of matches also. Good for the likes of Arbroath but not making it for me. Didn't get a lot of game time at Thistle not sure of the reason. Time will tell.
McGinn, McLean, Lavety, Lambert, Hamilton etc etc all hit the ground running. They were better than what we had and showed it in abundance. Motherwell youngsters seem to be of the same ilk
Hibs were the same with Miller, Brown, Thomson, O'Connor etc.
The new approach by SMFC is a massive gamble and i really hope it works but at the moment I'm very doubtful. For me I'd be dropping 1 or 2 of the best one's in a season and hoping it sticks. Any more than that and i think we could be in trouble. The squad needed serious overhaul even before thinking of blooding youngsters.
Having said all that I have a feeling that Falkirk and StJ are 2 of the teams we would want to start against to get points and a bit of confidence. 2 defeats and we are already struggling.

lenziebud got a reaction from faraway saint in vs Dunfermline Sunday 26th Julytotally overrated and going to get a run out in some bigger games this seaon where he will be found out quickly. The decision on our goal was a shocker as he had a clear view. Also looked like he was borderline losing control in the first half. Likes to play advantage but has a very agressive man management style which i think will cause him a lot of problems at a higher level

lenziebud reacted to DougJamie in Saints v Sellick CupUs long standing fans seem to forget this could be as good as it gets....we have finished 3rd once in my 50 years supporting. We have won 1 SC and first time winners of LC....for the 3rd season in a row we are not in any danger and pushing for Europe....crowds are up we have a great manager and 7 international players to call on... bloody hell this is good. . Anyone remember us being 10 points adrift of 9th in Championship a mere 8 years ago... in that time Hearts and united have been relegated
Happy days.... so enjoy please

lenziebud got a reaction from WeeBud in Saints v Dundee FC - Wednesday, 7th Feb. 2024He is meant to wait till that phase of play is finished i.e. a goal ?
For me linesman followed correct procedure but got the decision wrong. Not easy running the line despite how easy many fans think. In this case VAR is a plus !

lenziebud got a reaction from pondsman in Saints v Dundee FC - Wednesday, 7th Feb. 2024I think he just took a shot at goal and Carson made a complete @rse of it. Nothing to do with the surface.
Docherty moaning about our pitch and penalties is pathetic and probably gamesmanship trying to influence referees in future games.
The problems are in his dressing room and nowhere else

lenziebud got a reaction from W6er in Saints v Dundee FC - Wednesday, 7th Feb. 2024Its bull, he suddenly found out last night that his team will not be top 6.
We were streets ahead of them even when we have a bit more in us.
Really good run of fixtures on paper coming up. Looking at Killie's we have a much easier run to the split.
Its St Mirren though and we all know what that means !!

The best way to counter heavy traffic is to leave the house early

lenziebud got a reaction from Cookie Monster in Hibs v St Mirren - today 03/02/24Got to build on this by beating Dundee. Fixtures coming up are decent so good opportunity to get on a run

lenziebud got a reaction from StanleySaint in St Mirren v Sevco 2012 SPFL PREMIERSHIP 27/1/24Scott is a quality addition and we only have because of the influence Robbo has on him. Young guy who has lost his way a touch but he will get back to his best under Robbo and then we have a real talent
-
Much to be pleased about...Scott looks a find...Gogic was immense... on this we are 5th best in Scotland... and hopefully will prove this v Hibs next
-
If the saints can keep up that level of performance then we can still finish top6 or higher. No poor performances, Kwon looks good, Scott looks decent from his late cameo appearance so January looking stronger team.
-
lenziebud got a reaction from eastlandssaint in Welcome James ScottBad injury at Hull. Weight problems at Hibs. Needs to sort himself out and get back to what he is capable of. No hiding place for him with Robbo
-
lenziebud got a reaction from eastlandssaint in Speculation ThreadRobinson got Main at his best for us. If he could get Scott back to his best then we have a player
-
No pass from me. I want ALL plastic pitches banned from the top league. If you feel that way then we can't have exceptions. Even if the team has 10 Messis.

Here's a solution from Croatia.

I've never particularly liked Motherwell as a club and set of supporters. This "Block E" mob come across as aggressive wee tadgers.
The pyros make look bright and "cool" to some people but I can live without them. People with asthma can be affected by them and the chemicals that are in them are getting released into the atmosphere.
I think a lot of people forgot how to behave during the covid lockdowns and we're seeing a lot more "tadgery" behaviour than ever.

I'd suggest a "hundred times better" is a slight exaggeration.
I'm more on the "ninety nine times".

lenziebud got a reaction from waldorf34 in St Mirren v Ross County SPFL PREMIERSHIP 9/12/23On the game its a much better forum today than after StJ match where a number of people were losing the run of themselves.
Sometimes a losing run allows the manager to reassess which Robinson has done.
Nahmani and Small really took their chance yesterday. Both look real talents, a bit surprised given their showing yesterday that the had to wait so long.
Nahmani and Ayunga worked really well together. Nahamani reminded me a bit of Dargo with his movement and Ayunga was superb especially second half.
Small looks a real prospect if he can develop and be consistent. Looks the real emotional type so needs to keep that in check too. Only issue with him on the right hand side is that he keeps trying to shift back to his left.
Also thought Olusanya was decent when he came on. Taking a bit of a belting on here recently. Frightening pace and strength just needs to get his final ball right and improve his finishing and there is a real player in there. Not surprised Warnock rated him
