Just seen this on Facebook, not all Old Firm fans are as some would have us belive.......... Celtic fan - I’ve had the privilege of meeting Robbo on a few occasions on flights back to Belfast from Glasgow, such an approachable guy and loves to talk about football. So underrated as a football manager. Masterminded two great results against the best team in Scotland this season, that doesn’t happen by accident 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 fully deserved that point today Saints fans 👍🏻

Watched the game in the house and thought we were outstanding. 👏 Everyone played well with Main and Taylor being our stand out performers. It really does feel like this could be such a massive season. We really need to grab this opportunity of getting European football. This team are more than capable of getting a win at Pittodrie on Wednesday then take it into the last game. All assuming Hibs don't get a couple of wins in there next 2 games. I think we will get something at Pittodrie midweek.

Fingers crossed we get another good performance and result against Aberdeen to take us into this with some real belief. Whatever happens, it's been the best season for many a year.

It would be typical if we beat aberdeen and hibs lose against celtic, then we get beat by rangers and hibs score a last minute equaliser against hearts so we lose out on goal difference. (Presuming Celtic win the cup)

Isn't it a sign how far we've come that we're disappointed drawing with the top team and the 4th best team in the country? We're putting ourselves up against the top teams, not looking over our shoulder in the bottom 6.

Sure, I’ll do my best. I image that would be understandable to most primary school aged children though, so it might be tough… more people may join up to club 1877 now, as an undesirable (https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/undesirable) is cutting ties & is banned from the stadium. A self-interest obsessed drama queen, that loves a moan. I can understand why you’re on his side. 😂

I stopped going to away matches after witnessing the kind of behaviour that you describe and worse. I now go to a few select away games and try to keep away from any fences that may separate us with the home supporters. Up at Aberdeen, I've witnessed fans from both clubs basically shouting at each other instead of watching the match, I don't understand that either. One Aberdeen fan was pointing to the "Stone Island" logo on the sleeve of his sweater before spreading his arms out in a "C'mon, let's be 'aving you" gesture before pointing to his "Stone Island" logo again! Complete and utter stupidity and probably from a guy who wouldn't say boo to a Pomeranian without his mates to back him up! Then witnessing some of our supporters wearing balaclavas was the decider not to go to as many away games. Keep all that stuff, along with flares for the Glasgow mobs, it's not welcome amongst the St. Mirren support.

As another poster said…..finished up with drinks getting thrown back and forward. Stewards and police holding our guys back. Sad to say that our young lads spent most of the time not watching the game but instead noising up the Celtic fans ceaselessly. Took a lot of the shine off the game for me. I clearly am getting old, but I see no value in that behaviour.

Who can honestly claim they expected that today? We honestly could have, and possibly should have, won it. Everybody knows we have a good team and a good manager. The trouble is they seem to throw it away. Europe is back on the menu. We can beat either Aberdeen or Rangers. Hibs have two games against the Old Firm and an Edinburgh derby away at Tynecastle. We need them to lose all three games, and pick up at least three points, unless they get a couple of spankings to equalise goal difference.

IMO the jury was out when he was with us, Aberdeen panicked and jumped in when he/we were on a good, albeit short, run of form. He was shown up at Aberdeen, had them heading for a relegation battle, got binned and looks like taking United down. Two teams with bigger resources than us, we dodged a bullet IMO.
  25. 2 points
Main points for me Curtis Main - excellent, bullied their defence all day but is defo penalised for being a big guy, should have had a load of fouls for today. Small - good solid game, gave them plenty to think about Taylor - good find by Robinson getting better all the time Strain - what a find he is, great player and runs himself into the ground every game Carson - great keeper ( although I was not convinced at first but then we have been spoilt recently) The rest of the team played very well Jota - why didnt he get a card for the dive or the taking out of Baccus off the ball Celtics 2 goals - both came from almost nothing but then when they bring on 3 subs worth probably £10mil and we went toe to toe with them. Great game to watch as a Buddie, yes they had more of the ball but you expect that from a team with multiple times our budget but we took the game to them.

Quite alot of Dundee Utd fans thought Goodwin was a great manager a few weeks ago as did some Aberdeen fans at start of season. Proper football manager I saw quoted wonder if they feel the same now. See their defensive mistakes come back big time today although Bruce Anderson scored the 2nd best goal of the day with a great finish. Sent from my T610K using Tapatalk
  30. No point using a few selective, if disappointing, games mate. That's what the league is all about and it could be said that it's not often we get 4 from Celtic, all swings and roundabouts. A win against Aberdeen and the Rangers game will be MASSIVE.
  31. What a season the bigman has had for us. Some turnaround under Robinson. Our gaffer really does get the best out of his players. Still a wee chance of Europe after today and a great team performance. Bring on the Dons.

I did, and they did come back very quick. Basically saying it’s still being discussed & a statement will be out before the vote. Still feel, from a visibility and fan inclusion perspective, this would be best discussed at an open forum like the AGM.

Who are St Mirren's Celebrity Fans? We all know Rod Stewart isaCektic Fan and that Lorraine Kelly is a Dundee United Fan. I believe that Dundee United have appointed Lorraine Kelly and Brian Taylor as their Celebrity Ambassadors. Who would you like ours to be. The latest local guy to hit the big-time is Richard Madden who hails from Elderslie. A short list of famous Paisley People is shown via this link. Don't know if Cristopher Brookmyre or Dougie Vipond are shown. So who would you chose? https://www.paisley.org.uk/famous-people/

  35. I'd like to wait until the report has been compiled and look at its content and conclusions before commenting on the news article itself. Like yourself I was vocal on W7 and felt that they mishandled the issue. I would like to see a calm approach where input is sought from all parties and respect is shown together with adherence with club and societal rules and rulings on particular issues. As before, I love the noise and colour that W7 bring but the whole ground is now more involved in providing noisy support than before. Some of the credit should go to the folks in W7 for their leadership in the vanguard of this change. Let's stick together, not overeact to news items and support the Saints together. My version of no comment.

Made myself useful doing chores around the house and settled down with a beer at 6pm to watch ‘as live’ on BBC Teuchter without knowing a thing about how it went. After a reasonably even opening fifteen minutes, quickly became second-best. Nothing in midfield, nothing up top, no threat, and shaky in defence. I refuse to criticise Oran Kearney. He has come into a shambles of a situation where a championship winning side lost a good manager, employed a charlatan, and recruited extremely badly. We have too many lower level lightweight loanees, and a 75k signing doing the square root of fcuk-all. WTF is the point of King, Kellerman, Cooke, Heaton... If Oran Kearney (and Rice / MacPherson) can avoid finishing bottom or second-bottom with this squad, then I tip my hat to them, for performing a magic act that knocks Oran’s mate’s tricks into a cocked hat. We deseperately need a Shuggie, a Broadfoot, a DVZ, folk who look like they care, or at least know something about the badge on their shirt. On a positive note, watching on BBC Teuchter enabled me to learn the Gaelic for ‘shite’. Turns out it’s ‘Brock Madsen’. Who’d have thought?

Well I do but most are overseas rather than in Scotland. Just the way my work stuff worked out. Factual I have the maximum permitted number... 30000 with around 600 requests to connect outstanding and 38000 followers and up to 55000 readers of articles on leadership and management. But... Except on this Forum or in the past for Work Purposes, I keep a low profile although I have appeared on TVi Azerbaijan! Strange but true and completely irrelevant. There must be a good few celebs who are St Mirren Fans. We now have a Tech ical Director, why not Celebrity Ambassadors?
